Roach DH Leg Armour
Tough knee and shin guards from Roach of Canada.
|
Strengths
Built to last, tough as old boots and can take some seriously hard knocks that you can walk away from.
Weaknesses
The strap that goes round the back of your knee can dig in a bit to begin with - until it softens up a bit after a few rides.
Roach stuff is very hard to get your hands on if you live outside Vancouver BC.
Overall
The armour comes in the same form as the arm armour from Roach - high density plastic inserts with another layer of foam padding behind each. Good good!
Unlike the arm armour these wrap around your leg so no need to take your boots off to get them on. They're fastened using six velcro straps and sit fairly comfortably.
Most sites recommend the large size for folks 6 foot and over. I've heard people in the region of 5' 10" complaining that the smaller size is too small for them which results in the pads slipping down the leg a bit during a ride.
All in all great stuff!
