24x3" Halo Identi Contra Tyre
A big beefy MUni tyre.
|
Strengths
This is one thick piece of rubber. Very though, very grippy in the mud you find all over the UK. The thick sidewalls mean you can ride it at a much lower PSI rating so rolling over stones, tree roots and logs is easy as falling off a log.
Weaknesses
This is a 3" wide tyre... or so it says on the sidewall. Try nearer 2.65". It also has a very rounded profile which some riders prefer but not this one.
Overall
A fine downhill tyre but probably not the best - I think the crown goes to the Gazz for MUni. However, as a 24x3" tyre it does fit in the 28" Nimbus frame (a Gazz does not as it's too wide) so it's a great option for those on a budget i.e. those still saving for a Wilder or Kris Holm sig. frame.
As far as I am aware you cant get these in the US but try looking for a Duro Wildlife Leopard as it's exactly the same tyre.
